Care options guided by your assessment
There is no single technique that suits every injury. After an assessment, Alistair will discuss which options may be appropriate for your presentation, preferences and goals. Hands-on care may be used alongside education and exercise-based rehabilitation rather than as a pre-set treatment for everyone.

Spinal Adjustments
pinal adjustments are controlled, hands-on movements applied to joints in the spine. They may be used for certain joint-related pain, particularly when pain or stiffness is making movement uncomfortable. For some people, they can help reduce pain and improve how well joints will move.

Soft-tissue therapy
Stubborn muscle knots and tightness can make everyday movement and training uncomfortable. Soft-tissue therapy uses targeted hands-on techniques to work with sensitive muscles and surrounding tissues, helping ease tension and get you moving more comfortably.

Dry needling
Dry needling targets stubborn, sensitive areas of muscle using fine, sterile needles. By inserting needles into the target muscles, it can help stimulate blood flow to the area which may promote healing of the local tissues. It offers a different approach from hands-on soft-tissue therapy and may help ease muscle-related discomfort and improve movement.

Assisted stretching
Feeling stiff or limited in your movement? Assisted stretching uses guided, controlled stretches tailored to the areas you want to move more freely. It’s a hands-on way to work on flexibility and range of motion, whether you’re getting back to training or simply want everyday movement to feel less restricted.

Joint mobilisation
When a joint feels stiff or movement is uncomfortable, joint mobilisation offers a gentler hands-on approach. It uses controlled, repeated movements to work with the joint’s natural motion, with the aim of easing stiffness and helping you move more comfortably. It can be used for suitable concerns involving the spine or other joints after an assessment.

Rehabilitation exercises
Get back to doing what matters to you with exercises built around your goals. Your program may combine mobility, strength, balance and activity-specific movements, progressing as your capacity grows. Whether you’re returning to running, the gym, sport or everyday activities, the focus is on building the movement and confidence those activities demand.
Care options are discussed with you before treatment. You can ask questions and remain involved in decisions about your plan.
